Official program

Sunday afternoon – Oravka eggs transport from Nitra to Godollo and put to cultures

Monday morning: You have to come to the lab of Barbara – rabbit sperm cryopreservation

Monday afternoon: You will go to the lab of Bence – PGS cells isolations

Tuesday morning: You have to come to my lab – gonadal tissue isolation and cryopreservation

Tuesday afternoon: We have to discuss the project- preliminary results, torbles, prespective,…

Wednesday morning: You have to go the lab of the Bence – PGS cells culture

During the work meeting, experimental activities were carried out with a focus on

1) optimizing the freezing of sperm from „hungarina giant“ rabbits, using the BotuCryo freezing medium and modifying the sperm quality assessment as well as the vitrification method

2) from one-day-old chicks of the Slovak Oravka breed, we isolated ovarian and testicular tissues (fragments), subsequently frozen for gene bank purposes in Slovakia as well as in Hungary

3) after two and a half days of incubation of Oravka eggs, we isolated „PGS“ cells, which will be used for cultivation (approx. 3 weeks) and subsequently frozen for gene bank purposes in Slovakia as well as in Hungary.

Conclussion:

Many practical applications as for the Oravaka PGC and gonadial tissue isolation, culture and cryopreservation

Transport crypreserved Oravka cells to the Slovak animal gene bank in Nitra.
