Microbiological analysis of rabbit ejaculates

Within the framework of the Interreg project, the Hungarian colleagues spent 3 days in Nitra between 24-26 February 2025. During the collaborative work they performed microbiological analysis of fresh and frozen/thawed semen samples of Hungarian native roosters. An important requirement for samples stored in a sperm bank is that they must be free of pathogens, so great care must be taken to identify which pathogens are present in the samples to be stored and how the samples can be pathogen-free. Based on the results obtained, Hungarian colleagues can start pathogen elimination studies of semen samples from native Hungarian cockerels.
